Oval silver box with fluted sides and relief decoration. On the front and back side of the box there is a square-shaped surface with the oval cartouche flanked by stylized fruit and flower motives in Secession/Jugendstil style, rendered in relief. The lid of the box is elaborately ornamented with dots and acanthus foliage alongside the rim, stylized twisted cord motive and the central oval frame with the radiant gadroons inside. All of the decorative motives on the lid are rendered in relief too. The interior of the box is silver gilt.
According to the style the box can be dated at the early 20th century and it is probably of German origin.
