Elegant silver Art Deco cigarette case with whole surface covered with engine turned decoration. Alongside the upper rim there is a geometrical pattern formed of silver lozenges set in dark blue enamel ground. In the centre of the lid is a main decorative motive in the form of a round cartouche with a playful sea wave rendered in bright blue, dark blue and white enamel. The interior of the case is gold-plated. On the both parts of the box, near the hinge, on the inner sides, there are stamped sets of hallmarks, each including Austrian silver hallmark used after 1922 for objects made of 900 silver standard and assayed in Vienna, 900 silver hallmark and maker’s initials J.S. According to the style and hallmarks the artefact can be dated in the period from 1920s to 1930s
